Whether at the front-lines or in a support role, as part of our team you’ll work alongside a diverse and skilled group of purpose-driven professionals, empowered to provide exceptional service.

Our Ministry Unity in Calgary, Alberta is made up of several departments:

Administrative Support

Administrative staff ensure office efficiency by managing daily clerical tasks, correspondence, scheduling, documentation, and supporting frontline staff.

Adult Education, Child and Family Programming

Our Adult programs are designed around a balanced approach that addresses all aspects of wellness. We currently offer ESL classes, Career Compass, Financial Literacy and Tax Support. Our dedicated team of Child and Family staff facilitate programming that brings caregivers and children together in focused learning activities.

Frontline Staff

The Salvation Army in Calgary operates dedicated outreach teams, including central downtown patrols and mobile encampment teams, providing essentials, crisis intervention, and housing support to vulnerable populations. They connect unhoused neighbors with services, including transportation to shelters.

Religious & Spiritual Care

Chaplains provide intentional, directed, spiritual care for residents. They also organize and facilitate spiritual formation and spirituality-based classes and groups, including Christian programing.

Residential Support Workers and Resource Specialists

Residential Support Workers are positive role model for clients by developing professional interpersonal relationships that promote dignity and respect. They also provide a safe and secure environment for staff, residents, and visitors. Resource Specialists provide client-centered care, family support, case management, provides leadership for program initiatives, administrative duties and organizational requirements. They develop relationships with clients to ensure individual needs are heard and addressed appropriately.

Shelter Workers

The Salvation Army shelter workers in Calgary provide essential, round-the-clock support at facilities like the Centre of Hope (men), West Campus (women), and East Campus (families), offering 375+ daily beds. Roles include residential support, navigation, and outreach, focusing on safety, addiction support, and housing transitions.
