  • Access to wi-fi and common areas for health and learning
  • Resource Specialists for guidance and referrals
  • Education Opportunities
  • Chaplaincy Support

Emergency Shelter

20 Beds

We provide a safe place with a bed and food so residents can focus on moving forward to the next part of their journey.  Rooms are shared or dormitory style, and are assigned to each resident for the length of their stay.  Program goals aim for a stay of 90 days or less.

Transitional Housing Program

20 Beds

This program is the next step for many and provides safe and affordable housing for up to two years.  The goal of transitional housing is to provide stability in a community-based environment where residents can heal and rebuild.  Residents pay a subsidized rent and additional supports like meals and laundry decrease gradually through our Step Up process that allows confidence and independence to grow as residents move towards stable housing in the broader community.   Each resident has a private room and they enjoy a common gathering space with basic kitchen.

Community Programs

The Barbara Mitchell Family Resource Centre is the main building at our West Campus.  Day programming for female residents is provided in this space, but there are also many great community programs.

The Salvation Army hosts wellness programming and community events throughout the year.  Our community partners provide many other services here including a daycare, kids sports classes, personal Counsellors, a personal trainer, and other wellness programming.

Calgary Food Bank  - This location is also a satellite location for the Calgary Food Bank hamper pick up two days a week.

Donate Hygiene Items

Residents enter our shelter with very few personal items. Hygiene items like a toothbrush and toothpaste, deodorant, or handcream help them settle in.

Volunteer

Our West Campus location has a big, beautiful green space and we rely on volunteers to help with landscaping but also to help host community events.

Donate Dollars

Our Transitional Housing Program relies on the generosity of donors like you. This program also supports women exiting human trafficking.
